It’s hard to believe anyone could weave together a history of all the scientific fields – cosmology, astronomy, paleontology, geology, chemistry, physics and more! – into a compelling narrative. Somehow, Bill Bryson manages this incredible feat! I truly loved the way he ties together the history of science with the stories of the men and women behind the science.
Read the book, you won’t be disappointed!
One notable anecdote I enjoyed in reading the book is Einstein’s (ultimately mistaken) endorsement of Hapgood’s book and theories.
Fabrice found your site from Tim Ferris. Book sounds great. I’m always wanting a better understanding of the big picture. Sounds like this will do the trick. Have you read “The Age of Heretics”? It’s a great look into the history and trajectory of the “corporation”.
Best,
Eric
