Ron Chernow is one of my favorite authors. He wrote amazing epic biographies on Alexander Hamilton and Rockefeller amongst others. He recently released a biography on George Washington called Washington: A Life. He spoke with Jon Meacham at the New York Public Library last September about his new book.
My good friend Joyce Pustilnik recently pointed me to the fascinating podcast of that discussion which I am attaching for your listening pleasure.
I have not bought his new book yet, but it’s definitely on my to-read list!
Chernow rocks, who knew Alexander Hamilton bled through his bed into the wood floor, Ick, but interesting!
have you ever read the Rockefeller biography ? it is a fascinating piece, I remember pretty much learning the English language with it.
Sebastien: I agree, it’s a great biography!
The Rockefeller biography was fabulous and surely is the best way to learn English. I also recommend The First Tycoon: The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt. Those two books alone pretty much describe the 19th century in business and why the United States became rich. I have a few other recommendations on my blog post at:

Would love to hear of Rons next book, just completed Washingtom A Life which was so rewarding, gave me an insight into Washington and United States, in those early years and its history,1st President wonderful, truly a hard to put down book, what a colossus, words fail to match the man, and again I am just completing ‘Warburgs’ on the last chapter, and I am so sad to be nearing the end, such a brilliant family, great story it took me through those war years when Hitler was blitzing us in London, in fact our whole family was uprooted and maybe never regained our true position nothing to match what happend to the warburgs and family just awful.. it might be of interest, I am now in Ireland but am a Londoner by birth and upbringing, I have a third ‘TITAN’ by my bedside, so Ron Chernow rates very high.
